CapitaLand’s wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), has recently opened Ho Chi Minh City’s first Citadines-branded serviced residence.

The 229-unit Citadines Regency Saigon enjoys a prime location at District 3, a key business and residential district. Citadines Regency Saigon has also become Ascott’s fifth operating property in Ho Chi Minh City and the twelfth one in the country, providing expatriates and travellers with more accommodation choices.

Lew Yen Ping, country general manager for Ascott Vietnam, said that Vietnam was Ascott’s largest market in Southeast Asia, where demand for serviced residences remains high.

“We currently have 21 properties offering close to 4,700 units across six cities and provinces in the country. Within the next three years, over 2,000 units across nine properties slated to open in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Danang, Halong City, and Binh Duong province. We look forward to providing more accommodation choices in the fast-expanding Vietnam, and are committed to achieve our target of 7,000 units in the country by 2020,” Ping said.

She further added that Citadines Apartment hotel is Ascott’s fastest growing brand globally and it caters to independent travellers who want the flexibility to customise their stay with the services they require.

After its first Citadines in Vietnam—Citadines Bayfront Nha Trang—it has opened Vietnam’s largest serviced residence, Citadines Blue Cove Danang, and Citadines Regency Saigon.

Another two Citadines are scheduled to open in Binh Duong this year and in Ha Long City at the end of 2020.

There are significant opportunities for our international-class serviced residences to expand in Vietnam.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism reported that visitor arrivals were robust with 7.9 million, up 27.2 per cent year-on-year, and Ho Chi Minh City accounted for nearly 50 per cent of the arrivals.
