Mack-Cali Realty Corp. and Uber have partnered in a commuter ridesharing program at four commercial properties in Short Hills.Mack-Cali Realty Corp. and Uber have partnered in a commuter ridesharing program at four commercial properties in Short Hills.

Similar to a program announced in February at Mack-Cali’s properties in Metropark, the company will pay for its tenants’ Uber rides up to $10 to and from participating office complexes during commuting hours.

“We recognize that convenience is a key factor when it comes to planning and meeting the transportation needs of our tenants,” Mack-Cali CEO Michael DeMarco said. “Implementing an on-demand transportation service such as Uber has been very well received by our tenants in Metropark, and we’re excited to introduce the pilot program in Short Hills.”

An Uber pickup and drop-off area has been established at each location, with the requirement that trips covered under the program start or end at one of the specified buildings in Short Hills or Metro Park.

Said Uber Regional Manager Sarfraz Maredia: “The first phase of this partnership has been a tremendous success. And it shows proof of concept that modern office workers want the convenience of ridesharing and the ability to live a more transit oriented lifestyle.”
