Planning for the Future - Ambulatory
Market Portfolio Analysis & Master Plan

Planning for the delivery of healthcare and the deployment of physical assets in the post Affordable Care Act age is a challenging task for most providers. With that being said Pardee Hospital decided it was time to update their long-range Strategic Master Facilities Plan. The plan focused on the strategic needs for both on and off campus inpatient and ambulatory environments. Pardee had many concerns one of which was to ensure they were well positioned in their market to deliver primary and urgent care services in response to the need to better manage the health of its population in order to operate in the new realities of the Affordable Care Act. CBRE then also partnered with Pardee to conduct an analysis of Pardee’s existing locations, overall patient demand, competitor physician supply, and created a market-based Urgent and Primary Care strategic plan. This plan aimed to increase efficiency and assure that the market population’s most basic care needs were covered.

This panel will provide a history as to how the healthcare industry has evolved and provide insight as to where it's heading post ACA. Hear from experts as to what steps they are taking, what challenges they facing and how they are addressing this rapidly moving industry. Many of these changes brought on by ACA have affected outpatient costs and have provided the emphasis for more suburban based treatment centers. There are a lot of opportunities in the healthcare industry for Counselors of Real Estate and you don't have to understand a quadruple bypass to take advantage of them.
