The Ministry of Transport has completed a pre-feasibility study for a VND5.5 trillion ($237 million) expressway between Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces.

The 28-kilometer An Huu-Cao Lanh Expressway, with four lanes in the first phase and six in the second, will begin from the Trung Luong-My Thuan Expressway, a major project under construction in Tien Giang, and run northwest to Cao Lanh, the capital of Dong Thap.

Construction is set to begin in 2021 and finish in 2025 with public funding.

The expressway will reduce traffic on the existing National Route 30 which runs through the two Mekong Delta provinces.
