The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau recently announced it has appointed Scott Pauli as executive director the Island of Hawaii Visitors Bureau, an island chapter of HVCB, effective Sept. 18.

In this role, Pauli will oversee IHVB's destination marketing in the U.S., as well as support international marketing partners, as contracted by the Hawaii Tourism Authority, according to the announcement.

“Scott will play a pivotal role as IHVB’s executive director, as he aligns with community values and brings a wealth of extensive industry knowledge to listen to the concerns of residents and also educate visitors on how to engage on Hawaii Island on a deeper and more respectful level,” HVCB President and CEO John Monahan said in a statement.

Pauli will also guide the implementation of the Hawaii Island Destination Management Action Plan and the 2023 Community Enrichment Program on Hawaii Island, which are designed to promote a regenerative tourism model, as noted in the announcement. He has nearly 30 years of industry experience in Hawaii and previously served as the general manager of Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo.
