Autosource, a dealership for pre-owned vehicles, opened its new flagship 70,000-square-foot showroom and service center on July 1 at the corner of Kapiolani Boulevard and Keeaumoku Street in Honolulu.
The dealership, located at 1488 Kapiolani Blvd., includes two levels of showrooms, five floors of inventory and a service department, as well as customer parking. It replaces Walgreens, as previously reported by Pacific Business News.
The company held a Hawaiian blessing on June 30 and its soft opening on July 1, according to representatives of the company.
"We’re blessed to be able to elevate this incredible building on an underutilized corner of a major Honolulu intersection into a vibrant place of commerce,” said Rima Braden, the founder and CEO of Autosource, in a written statement.
The company sells a variety of vehicles, from luxury cars to family vehicles.
“I believe everyone deserves access to quality, reliable transportation,” Braden said in a written statement. “While we do have high-end luxury cars, most of our inventory is daily drivers — trucks, SUVs, sedans, and family vans that the average, local family needs.”
Autosource opened its first store with 25 vehicles at a 3,500-square-foot location on Kona Street in 2001. The company almost tripled its footprint by 2005, expanding to a 10,000-square-foot space on Kapiolani Boulevard and increasing its inventory to 200 vehicles.
In 2016, the business moved to a space off of Ala Moana Boulevard and expanded its inventory to 400 vehicles. Today, the company has more than 500 vehicles in its inventory, with some housed at its new location at Kapiolani Boulevard and others offsite.
